Cowan Ministerial Association in Cowan, Tennessee brings together churches and pastors to glorify Jesus Christ, promote Christian fellowship among the various congregations, and reach out to the community with God’s love and mercy.

February 16: Pastoral Visit from the Bishop of TN, St. Agnes', 11 am
St. Agnes' Episcopal Church in Cowan will welcome The Rt. Rev'd John C. Bauerschmidt, the 11th Bishop of Tennessee, for a pastoral visit on Sunday, February 16th, 2025.
Bishop John will lead a service of Holy Communion at the 11 o'clock hour. Lunch will be served afterward in the parish hall.

March 5: Community Ash Wednesday Service, 6 pm at First Baptist
The various Cowan churches will join for a shared Ash Wednesday Service on March 5th, 6:00 p.m. at Cowan First Baptist Church. Rev. Ronnie Pittenger will be our speaker and the host church will lead in music and song.
Ash Wednesday is the first day in the Season of Lent - a 40-day period of fasting and prayer that leads to the celebration of Jesus' Resurrection from the grave.
At the service all are invited to be marked with ashes on the forehead. The ashes remind us that we are sinners facing the reality of our own death and in need of the good news that Jesus brings in the Resurrection.
Come and join us in this special time of worship, reflection and preparation. Cowan First Baptist Church is located at 316 W. Cumberland St. The service is sponsored by the Cowan Ministerial Association.

The various Cowan churches will gather for Maundy Thursday on April 17th, 6:00 p.m. at St. Agnes' Episcopal Church. The speaker will be Rev. John Barker.
Maundy Thursday recalls the Last Supper that Jesus held in the Upper Room with the Disciples. The Last Supper is where Jesus gave the new commandment. (The word "maundy" is based on a Latin word that translates to "mandate" or "commandment".)

The various Cowan churches will gather on Friday, April 18th, 6:00 p.m. at Cowan First Baptist Church for a shared Good Friday event.
All are invited to this very special and solemn time to reflect on Jesus' arrest, trial, crucifixion, and burial. First Baptist Church is located at 316 W. Cumberland St. in Cowan.

April 20: Community Easter Sunrise Service, 6:30 a.m. at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery
The various Cowan churches will gather for an Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 20th, at 6:30 a.m. The service is a joyful celebration of the empty tomb and the news that Jesus is risen!
Our speaker will be Pastor Roger Speer, Pastor of Cowan Fellowship Church. The cemetery is located at the end of South Willow Street in Cowan.
In case of rain/bad weather, the service will gather instead at Cowan Fellowship Church.
(A Sunrise Service will also be held at the Goshen Cemetery, 1262 Williams Cove Road between Cowan and Winchester.)

Mission House Ministries in Cowan is pleased to host The Table on Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Table is for anyone in the community to enjoy a pleasant meal in the fellowship of others. This ministry is also a great opportunity for any local congregation, Sunday school class, youth group, or auxiliary to serve the needs of others.
The Table is located in the upstairs area of The Mission House at 106 Rogers St. in Cowan.
