Summer 2021 Services, Events, and Opportunities
June 14: Flag Day Ceremony in Cowan! On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress adopted the Flag of the United States with 13 stripes of red and blue, and a union of stars on a blue field. The history of the flag also brings the legendary story of Betsy Ross who sewed the first version according to her family memoirs. The people of Cowan will celebrate the history, heritage, and unity of "Old Glory" on Monday, June 14th, at 6 p.m. in front of the log cabin court house. We hope you can attend!
June 26: Outdoor Summer Concert, 5:30 p.m. at Cowan Fellowship Church. Join us in the parking lot of Cowan Fellowship Church for an outdoor concert. Bring outdoor chairs or blankets. We will have food and drinks and Isaiah 117 House T-Shirts available to purchase. The event is free, but donations are accepted for the Isaiah 117 House. The musicians performing are from local Franklin County churches. Cindy and Jacob Gray, Charlie Smith, Christopher Smith, Wanda Spencer, Helen Stewart, Kent Turner, and Stacy Ruch will be performing, along with a few children. You'll be sure to recognize your favorite gospel tunes, as well as some new spins on the old ones. Cowan Fellowship is located at 609 E. Cumberland St.
